Sendero Group was closed in 2018 after 19 years in business. The website has been left live so users can find resources on Sendero products and about navigation in general. The site is not updated so there may be broken links and outdated information. The Sendero contact methods are no longer monitored.
The Sendero founders began developing accessible GPS in 1993. They released the first GPS version for a laptop in 2000. Sendero software is at the core of accessible GPS products such as BrailleNote, Braille Sense, Mobile Geo/Adventure, Sendero PC Maps and GPS, and fully accessible turn-by-turn apps for the iDevices, Seeing Eye GPS (U.S., Canada, and Argentina), RNIB Navigator (U.K. and some European countries), and Guide Dogs NSW (Australia). Note: The Sendero mobile apps are now owned by Aira. The Sendero notetaker and Windows products are handled by the Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired in San Francisco
